compatibility issues between Outlook 2003 and older Office product

5 months ago we purchased Windows 2003 SBS which came with Outlook 2003.
After upgrading our client machines to this version of Outlook we noticed
Outlook 2003 is not fully compatible with office products that are earlier
than 2003 version. We spent few thousand dollars between then and now and
upgraded most of our client machines to office 2003 but for the rest of them
we can not effort to pay and buy more office 2003 products.

The issues we currently have on these machines are as follow:
Grammar check is not functioning when writing an email
Journaling is not working
Hyperlink creation is not acting normally
Can not set Word as default email editor
By right click on a file can’t not sent it to a recipient

Is there any hot fix or something that I apply to these machines and fix
these bugs?

Please advice.

Thanks,

Mike

That's not just the case with Office 2003 - the versions of Word and Outlook
have always had to have been the same to use Word as email editor - right
back to Office 2000 at least.

Not really, only by buying Word 2003, or reverting to your previous version
of Outlook AFAIK.....

Maybe I should purchase bunch of Word 2003 and only upgrade Word application
to 2003.

Thanks for your time.

Please be aware that any Office automation (file->send to->mail recipient)
is also dependent on the same version, not just Word. Excel, PowerPoint,
etc. require the same version to use Office automation.
