Computer will not read Office 2000 Disc 1...

I'm reinstalling Microsoft Office 2000 SBE on my laptop and for some reason,
it will not recognize Disc 1. It just doesn't recognize that there is any
disc in the drive. Disc 2 and all others are fine. The disc is not damaged
or scratched in anyway. Has anyone else had this problem? Shoot me an

Are you able to copy the CD to a folder on your hard drive
and install from there?

If the computer can't see anything in the drive, how could he?
