Concatenate Formula Problem

I cannot make either the concatenate string or the ampersand version of the
same function work in excel 2002. I'm running xppro and just installed SP2.
Any ideas? I'm typing the formula this way: =CONCATENATE(C2," ",D2," ",E2,"
",F2)
All cells involved are formatted for text.

It works fine here.

What happens when you try it?

Hi Ron,
Thanks. Absolutely nothing. It just sits there as if it were a simple data
entry. No error message, nothing. I tried reformatting to general to see if
that made a difference and it doesn't.

I think the problem is that you have the cells formatted at text. This would
cause the cell to simply read the formula. You say that you re-formatted the
cell to general, however, in my experience that rarely works. Try entering
=1+1 to see if it give the answer or just shows =1+1. If it doesn't give the
answer try your formula's in another cell.

Thanks very much. I tried typing in a new cell and that didn't work so I
siply inserted a new worksheet and pasted values only. That worked. Who knew?
Again, thanks.

FIRST format the cell as General.

THEN enter the formula.
