Conduit for synching Entourrage with Palm Tungsten E

Does anyone know of a solution for synching Entourage with a Palm
handheld?

It's a pain in the you-know-where to maintain both Palm Desktop and
Entourage. Does Microsoft support a conduit for Entourage to Palm?

this resolved it. Its there, just have to dig a little bit. Good Luck

But, as far as I know, there is no conduit so that Entourage can work with
iSync. You'd need to use another tool to get your Entourage data into a
form that iSync can read from first.

Of course.

The Microsoft download site for the Synch download -
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/DOWNLOA
D/OFFICEX/palmsync.xml&secid=5&ssid=9&flgnosysreq=True)

says it won't work for the Tungsten E and T3 as the Palm applications
have changed. Has anyone managed to get them to work with Synch?

They do work, as long as you restrict yourself to the old fields form Palm
OS 4/5.0 and don't enter data in 2nd address, etc. You'll lose that if you
do.

I clicked on the "Entourage Help" from the "Help" menu, typed in "handheld"
in the search box, and it gave me this information:

About synchronizing with a handheld device
If you have a handheld device, you can synchronize, or share, items between
Microsoft Entourage and your handheld. When you synchronize, Entourage
copies contacts, tasks, notes, and Calendar events to and from your
handheld. After entering information, you can view it and make changes to it
by using either your computer or your handheld.
If you are currently using Palm Desktop to store information, you can import
this information into Entourage by synchronizing your handheld device with
Palm Desktop so that it has the latest information, and then following the
steps below.
Palm Desktop 4.0 is required for Handheld Synchronization to work properly.
If your handheld does not support Palm Desktop 4.0, Handheld Synchronization
with Entourage will not work. For more information, check with your handheld
manufacturer.
1. Make sure that Palm Desktop 4.0 is installed on your computer.
2. Install the Handheld Sync Installer (Entourage Conduit). Open the
Additional Tools folder located inside the Microsoft Office 2004 folder.
Double-click Handheld Sync Installer, and then follow the directions on your
screen.
3. In HotSync Manager, make sure that the Entourage Conduit is set up to
synchronize. For more information, see HotSync Manager Help.
4. Synchronize the handheld device with Entourage using HotSync Manager.

HAS ANYONE ELSE RUN INTO THE PROBLEM THAT THE TEST DRIVE VERSION DOES
NOT HAVE THE CONDUIT?

P

Paul Berkowitz

The conduit is on the CD (Full or Upgrade paid retail versions) and is to be
found in Additional Tools folder after installing by dragging or doing a
default Install. Since the Test Drive isn't on CD you don't get it. You can
take our word for it that it works - and is 10-100 times faster than the X
version. In less than 30 days the Test Drive will do you no good anyway
since it will expire. So if you like the other features of 2004, why bother
waiting for it to expire? Upgrade now and get the conduit. If you don't
intend to buy it, what good would the conduit do you anyway?

Not only do they support a conduit, they provide one. For Office v.X the
conduit is a separate download from MS's web site, and for Office 2004 the
conduit is on the CD. It isn't part of the Office "Test Drive" demos AFAIK.

Cheers,

Chris
