"configure progress" issue when using Word, OneNote, and Outlook 2

need help

right now, after 2 months of using office 2007, everytime i open up (or type
in) Word, OneNote, or Outlook "configure progress" window pops-up and won't
let me do anything.

I spent 9 hours with 4 different people with Microsoft support at
1-8664524755 yesterday. Between all of them I was intructed to reinstall
Office 2007 3 times. Yet the problem still not resolved. Even after all the
hours I spent on the phone, they will not transfer me to the next level "the
research group".

it's been 3 days and i can't get any work done. so please let give me some
suggestion if you have any!

btw.... "the research group" never called me back during the scheduled time

Exactly the same thing started happening to me last week. It is driving me
crazy.

If I try to cancel from the configuration, I also keep getting messages like
"Word found unreadable content in Normal.dotm. Do you wnat to recover the
contents of this document?". If I click yes, it goes back into the
configuration progress screen.

I noticed the problem shortly after I installed the Windows Desktop Search
(v 3.01) component, which Outlook had prompted me to install. I am not sure
if this is related to my problem, but uninstalling the program made no
difference and I still have the problem.

I've got this problem too, and it started as soon as I had installed
Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007. When I open up Microsoft Office Word
2007, the Configure process starts up and wastes two minutes of my time. I
was going to try reinstalling the software but after need help's experience
it sound like that's not the answer. Can anyone out there suggest anything
please!!!

I had the same problem installing for 250 network clients and for us it was
the previous version of Office 2000 on the computers. It has something to do
with the auto registration feature in Office 2007. In order to fix Office
2007 we had to make sure Office 2000 was removed entirely. I did this by
running setup.exe from the Office 2000 CD and having it remove the
installation. Once Office 2000 was removed then I could install Office 2007
successfully.
