Conflict with Office 2003 html source editor & VCom's WebEasy Pro

E

Envolet

My new computer came pre-installed with a 60-day trial of Office 2003 Standard.

I use a web design program called "Web Easy Professional 6" by VCom.

Problem: On selecting insert "Rich Text" within the WebEasyPro6, causes the
program to hang immediately, requiring ctrl-alt-del to end task.

WebEasyPro6 Technical have replied:-
"Do you have office or outlook installed? Most likely they are trying to
install the 'html source editing' tool, causing our application to hang."

So, although they state that there is a possible a conflict with Microsoft
Office, they don't provide any solution.

Could anyone here advise me if that Office feature (HTML editing tool) can
be disabled as I would like to keep both programs if at all possible.

Also, if I disabled it would it have much impact on the features of Office.

Hi Envolet,

In Word see if you have a listing in Tools=>Macro
for MS Script Editor. If so, that's the MS Windows
component MS Office uses as HTML Source Code editor.

You can uninstall that feature from the MS Office choice
in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel.
HTML Source Editing under 'Office Tools' in the
Add/Remove features portion of the Office setup can be
set to 'not available' to remove that feature.

The main loss of functionallity would be to view/edit source code within the Office apps.
