Connect window pop up

We had some troubles with virus (downloader.trojag) and
although the PC scans clean now since weeks, we have a
lingering problem with the Connect To window for Outlook
Express. It pops up on the average every 2 minutes
whenever an MS program is in use whether Excel or Word or
whatever. It also pops up during games from various
manufacturers. This is, of course, although OE is closed.
Do I have to re-install OE? How do I do that? Any other
remedy can anyone suggest?
