Connecting Entourage 2004 with SBS2003 Exchange 2003

Hello, I am new to this group, so please be kind.

I am trying to connect an Entourage 2004 client to the exchange server
running on SBS2003. On the MAC I am able to login to the Web exchange site
perfectly with the appropriate user account settings.
(https://server/exchange). I am unable to configure Entourage to connect
using the same address. I keep getting this error message:

"unknown user name or bad password. Your username / password or Security
settings may be incorrect."

I am at a loss as to what the problem may be. As a note I have 6 Windows PCs
connected to the exchange server using Outlook 2003. They work as expected.

I know for security reasons you cannot reveal the username and password, but
just check that you are not using windows type server syntax on the mac;
i.e. Using a \\ for the server name. Ensure that that username, password and
servernames are entered correctly.
