Connecting to Exchange Server

I've seen a couple of posts with this problem and I have tried the
solutions with no luck, any addtional information would be greatly
appreciated!

I've just installed Entourage as part of 2004 Office and I cannot get
it to connect to the Exchange server.

My corporate server does not use SMTP.

When I use the generic email that comes with MAC OS Panther I can
receive email but not send (SMTP problem) so I know I can hit the
Exchange server.

When using Entourage I get nothing as it won't connect to the server.

If I use web based Exchange (www.company.com/exchange) I get a connect
but still cant send or receive email.

Ideas?

FWIW, I can't get it to work with Entourage X, either. I've done the binding
thing using Directory Assistant, and still no luck. I don't really care
about the email as much, but I really need to get a public calendar
synchronized.

That means IMAP is enabled on the server. You can try setting up postfix on
your mac to use it as your own SMTP:
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/exchange/postfix.html

There has to be something wrong in your settings. Make sure for instance that
you enable SSL if you connect through an https page to OWA.

Otherwise, you can still probably set your account in ENtourage as IMAP using
postfix to send e-mails.

have the same issues and have tried all of the suggestions. Anyone able to
resolve this?
