Connecting to Outlook Web Acess

Has anyone "successfully" connected to a corporate OWA account and have it
work, (send and receive emails)?

If so could you send me how you set it up?

I have followed every online procedure I can find and nothing.

I get a successful connection and LDAP works, but I get no received emails
and I get a (error 170) when I try to send an email.

I have given up on trying to connect to Exchange server directly.

Microsoft assistance was of no help and useless, after an hour of being
passed from one help desk to the next I found no one that could tell me what
the error meant or provide any useful help, (I know venting).

The corporate Exchange server is not SMTP but has everything else that is
required (according to Microsoft whitepaper on Mactopia.com.

All I did was set up a new mail account for Exchange with the Exchange
server listed as the following:
https://owa.mailstreet2003.net/exchange

Everything else was the standard username, password, etc.

Under the "Advanced" tab, I also selected:
DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)

These settings work for me for my Mailstreet email account and I can send
and receive mail, calendar and contacts. This shows that OWA access can
work, but not that it will work for you since the Exchange server has to be
properly configured. Best of luck.

I am having the exact same problem as Kenny ---Can´t send emails
Entourage Error 170.

PowerBook G4 1.5 Ghz Entourage 2004.

What's aggravating is that both
Outlook 2001 (in Classic) and
Outlook 2000 (in Virtual PC)

work *** perfectly *** from the exact same computer!

Any tips appreciated.

Because of this issue --- Error 170 in Entourage ---, I have had to
abandon Entourage.

I use Mail.app set for Exchange.

It just works!

Can you receive e-mail ??
I've seen cases where people could receive but not send e-mails in the
past though. This happens with some servers that require that the return
address would be in their base. For instance we use here two types of
addresses, The server won;t send e-mails if I put in the short address
but no problem with the long one (eg: nothing with [email protected], but it
works with [email protected]).

Outlook 2001 (in Classic) and
Outlook 2000 (in Virtual PC)

They both use a differnt protocol (MAPI).

Yeah, but Entourage uses WebDAV which is drastically different.

Mail uses IMAP for receiving and SMTP for sending. You could setup your
account exactly the same way in Entourage. Just don;t set it up as an
Exchange account.
