Connection Failure (error -23016)

I have tried just about everything to get both my pop and imap account
to send out, but everytime I get a connection failure and nothing
sends. I can send out on both these accounts from my blackberry, but
not on my laptop through entourage.
Has anyone had this problem before? Can anyone help?

Does your SMTP server require authentication? If so, make sure it is
enabled. Go to Tools > Accounts, open your account, click the "Advanced
Sending Options", and turn on the option for "SMTP server requires
authentication".

KrisM - did Mickey's solution help you? It didn't for me. Any advice
from anyone - Mickey - perhaps a 2nd step to troubleshoot? Thanks.

If you have not solved your problem, perhaps you had the same situation
I did.

I am an SBCglobal DSL user..and they have changed their policy
regarding outsider servers. You can still keep yours, but you need to
follow a procedure to request keeping your server.

May I suggest calling sbc at 877-sbc-dsl5 (877-722-3755) if this
relates to you - request technical assistance and ask the person about
425 blockage and how you'd like to opt out of the 425 policy.
