connection to the server failed or was dropped

i keep getting the above message the first time i try to access new mail for
my hotmail accounts. i try it again a second later and it works. this has
only just started a few weeks ago. it doesn't happen for other non hotmail
accounts. my log in on msn messenger now does the same thing.
