Constantly changing one address

J

Jonny

Hi,

I have an irritating problem I can't solve;

I have a client with address [email protected].
He previously had the same, but with .net as domain.
Every time I get a mail from him (sent from the .com address) and reply
to it, Entourage automatically changes the address to the old .net address.
Since the entire domain and DNS is long gone from the net, I get an
error message from Entourage and have to manually change to the valid,
existing .com address.

I have tried everything I can think of to remedy this.
Have gone through entire address book and carefully deleted all
instances of the old .net address.
Have created an address book entry with the old .net address and labeled
is a "Junk".

Nothing helps.

What have I missed? What more can I do?

TIA
Jonny

Marking as junk should permanently remove it from the AutoComplete list.
Have you tried the Clear List button?

FWIW, the Most Recently Used cache uses the address book, but simply
removing an entry in the AB does not remove it from the MRU cache.

Just to be sure, double check that the entry in the AB is EXACTLY the same
as the one in the MRU.

Diana,

Thanks a mill for reply.
But while I tried to understand what you meant by "AB", I looked into
the source in one of his mails. After that peek, I slammed my forehead
into pulp against the wall. The guy had forgot or missed to change the
"reply-to" address in his mail client. It still pointed to the
non-existing .net address. Why I didn't think about looking into the
mail header previously beats me. Must be the age.....

Anyway, I just mailed him and asked him to fix this as I assume hundreds
of other recipients and "pen pals" are cursing about the same thing.

Thanks a bunch for answering, and please don't ignore me next time I ask
about something just because this... ;-)

Guess I need to add this to my shortcuts list for auto expansion. :)

AB = Address Book, MRU = Most Recently Used

We've all been there. :)
