Contact Duplication in Entourage 2008

When syncing my iPAQ 4350 with Entourage 2008 V 12.0.0 using Missing Sync V 4.0.2. The contacts are being duplicated every time I sync the device to my computer. I have worked with Missing Sync customer support and the error log is pointing to a conflict between iCal and Entourage as the culprit.

Any help in resolving the issue is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Answer to your problem?

We're all screwed by Microsoft AGAIN.

1. There is no user workaround/fix.
2. Microsoft will not openly address this MASSIVE bug.
3. There should be a class action suit against any software manufacturer that would so clearly and opening sell faulty software without a warning of such. They have destroyed my productivity.

Yes it affected my productivity greatly in the beginning. I eventually
found a workaround for my particular dup issue (in Calendar) but not
without weeks of frustration and constantly fixing the mess. This is
really not where I wanted to spend my time. I only discovered my
workaround by accident (have only Calendar sync turned on and not the
other modules) that allowed me to get back to using Entourage which
I've used for years and before that Outlook for years. It got so
frustrating before I found a method of keeping my calendar going that
I switched to iCal, Addressbook and Mail for 3 weeks but these just
don't have Entourage's power.

If you sync with .Mac, then you might be wrestling with sync conflicts that
never go away. This problem is affecting users of all types of sync
software.

Understanding how Entourage syncs might help in finding a solution.
Basically, all applications sync to a file called the "truth." See the
diagram in Bill's blog article:

Everything you wanted to know about syncing. The Truth, The Whole Truth, and
Nothing But The Truth.

³Why does syncing play Gossip with my contacts?³

If the Truth is full of duplicates, you can tidy up Entourage's contacts,
but then the Truth will write them back.

========================
How do I reset sync services and start fresh? (Warning this erases data!!!)

1) Turn OFF all sync services in Entourage preferences
2) Quit ALL Office applications (including Daemon - How to quit daemon)
3) Quit Safari, Address Book & iCal and all applications synching through
..Mac (Transmit, Yojimbo...)
4) Use Activity Monitor to quit Sync Services
5) Delete the contents of ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices/

Optionally: if you want to replace all data in the system Address book and
iCal with Entourage data, delete all iCal & Address Book Data Files:
~/Application Support/iCal/*~/Application Support/AddressBook/*
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iCal/*
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.AddressBook/*

6) Open the .Mac System preferences and make sure .Mac synching is enabled
(At this time I would skip this step)

7) Restart all applications that sync to .Mac (Safari, Address Book, iCal,
etc.... and Entourage).

8) Turn ON Sync Services in Entourage preferences.
