Then it appears you are using Outlook 2000 in Corp/Workgroup mode running
against Exchange Server, not a local information store. In that case, the
Inbox Repair Tool will be of no use and you will need to contact your
Exchange Administrator to see if he or she can look into problems with your
Exchange mailbox. I have seen no solutions for this common problem when
running against Exchange.

Russ,
I was not able find a corrupt address. I removed address book, but
couldn't figure out how to run the inbox repair tool. Then when I put
address book back in it froze up at different spot.
I am not clear on what you mean by which version.
When the mail opens up it shows "Micorsoft Outlook 2000 micorsoft office"
in the box while it is opening up.
Then when it opens the top bar shows "Inbox-Micorsoft Outlook".
In tools: services it shows "Micorsoft exchange Service" , in delivery
"microsoft exchange transport".
In options: mail server it shows "micorsoft exchange service" and in mail
format it shows "micorsoft rich text"
