Contact Notes reformatting

How can I keep Entourage from reformatting the notes on our exchange contacts after I open a contact?

We are noticing when you open contacts located either in public folders and / or other users contacts, Entourage decides to reformat the notes adding spaces and such.

How can I keep this from happening.

I am using Entourage 2008 in Leopard (10.5.1) So far this his the only "feature" I can live without.

Hi Bill!

This is just a guess but I bet what you're seeing are Windows line
breaks as they are interpreted on a Mac. This is probably not an
Entourage problem but just a glaring difference between the way Windows
and Macs handle text.

What happens if you create a test contact in Entourage and view it in
Outlook?

I created a new contact in Entourage and then added a line of text to that contact on the PC side, the formatting looked correct on the PC side.

I then opened that contact in Entourage 2008 and it added double spaced the entire notes area.

so it looks like there is a issue, a big issue for me.

How do I fix other than scraping this?

Update to 10.5.2 using the combo updater for best results.

Mac OS X 10.5.2 Combo Update

<http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1052comboupdate.html>

If updating makes you nervous, try SuperDuper!

We've discussed using SuperDuper!(backup software) before, but this is an
excellent time to remind users about a feature it has that protects you from
system updates that so bad.

One of the options in SuperDuper! is to create what the author calls a
"Sandbox". It's used to revert to pre-update state of your OS. Here's a
description of how this option works:

A Sandbox is a bootable copy of your system, stored on another hard drive or
partition, that shares your personal documents and data with the original.
With SuperDuper!, you actually use the Sandbox as your startup volume. You
can safely install any system updates, drivers or programs in the Sandbox,
without worrying about what might happen to your system. If anything goes
wrong, you can simply start up from the original system. SuperDuper! has
preserved it in its original, pre-disaster state but all your new and
changed personal documents are totally up to date. Within minutes, you're up
and running again without having to go through a difficult and
time-consuming restore process.

SuperDuper! Is $27.95. I¹m not affiliated with the product. Just a satisfied
user. <http://www.shirt-pocket.com/>
