Contacts and global adresslist missing

Hello,

System: Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain with an Exchange 2003 Server.
Clients: Mac OS X 10.2.8 with Entourage from Office 2004 for Mac

The mac clients are connectet to the windows exchange server. Works fine
with two problems:

All the contacts saved in outlook 2001 are missing in entourage. Seems like
they beeing saved local? Is there a possibility to import them? Outlook 2001
is on the same machine installed.

When a user want to create a new email and send it to one person from the
organisation, no entry is listened in the global adressbook. (By clicking on
the "to" (hope, this is the value of the button in englisch - german its
"An").

Does someone has an answer for one or both of the questions?

Thanks.

Make sure that the server entries (specifically Exchange Server & Public
Folders Server) are set up correctly in Tools > Accounts / Your Account.

If possible, move the contacts to the Exchange Server, and then they should
show up in Entourage.

If that's not possible, check out Paul Berkowitz's "Export-Import Entourage"
script package.
<http://www.scriptbuilders.net/?search=Export-Import+Entourage>

These are his instructions for importing contacts into Entourage from
Outlook 2001:
"Outlook 2001 exports only Contacts directly to a CSV file, and omits the
contact Notes. You can export to a Macintosh text file in File/Import and
Export (in Outlook 2001), then use the Outlook Contacts to EvX converter,
then Entourage¹s File/ImportŠ feature to import. (There¹s not much point
using the Contacts Import script since Outlook 2001 doesn't have categories
anyway.)"

There will soon be a PST import tool that will allow Outlook 2001 data to be
imported into Entourage 2004, but that's still in beta status. If you're
interested in taking part in the beta, go here to sign up:

You need to click the "Check Names" button (not sure what that would be in
German) in the Addressing pane to compare the name or alias entered against
the Global Address Book. If you want that to be done on send, go to
Entourage > Preferences, under "Mail & News Preferences", click "Compose",
and check the option to "Automatically check names when sending messages".

Be aware that there will be an update for Entourage released in the second
half of 2005 that provides "increased integration with the Global Address
List (GAL)".

Hello,

I have been using Outlook 2001 for Mac and have had no problem accessing my
companies Global list.

I have now switched over to Entourage 2004.

Everything works great except that I cannot access our global address list.

I have tried to set the LDAP and I still have no access. Talking to our
techs I do not believe that LDAP is turned on on our server.

If I cannot do so is there a way to download the global with outlook 2001 (I
have the global for offline) and import it into Entourage.

PLEASE HELP!!! I do not want to have to go back to Outlook or Outlook on an
XP system.

Thanks
Glenn
