Contacts and public folders

Hello all,

At the church where I work we use an Exchange server. But one feature
lacking (or possibly just something I can't figure out) is the ability to
see public folders, especially contacts in public folders.

Does Entourage 2004 sync to public folders? If it does how do you configure
it to work properly?

Thanks,

Pastor Steve Bauer

Here's the "About public folders" help topic. Note that Entourage only
supports e-mail message in public folders.

About Exchange public folders
Public folders is a feature of Microsoft Exchange Server that provides an
effective way to collect, organize, and share information with others in an
organization. Typically, public folders are used by project teams or user
groups to share information about a common area of interest. When you are
connected to your Exchange server, folders labeled "Public Folders" appear
in the Microsoft Entourage Folder List under your Exchange mail account.
Your Public Folder server was automatically determined when you created your
Exchange account.
To download the list of public folders, click the Public Folders folder. All
folders that you have access to will be downloaded. Keep the following in
mind:
€ Only e-mail messages will appear. Other item types that might be in the
public folder, such as Calendar events or tasks, will not appear in
Entourage.
€ To have Entourage automatically download the messages in a specific
public folder, you must subscribe to that folder.
€ Public folders in this list cannot be created, dragged, moved, renamed,
or deleted using Microsoft Entourage.

How does this differ "under the hood" from Entourage X?

I could click on the calendar button and my companies public calendar data
appeared automatically. But it doesn't work the same way in O-2004

Thanks

Entourage X connected to Exchange accounts over IMAP. If you want the same
behavior you can create an IMAP account in Entourage 2004 that points at
your Exchange account.
