Contacts block my outbox

I imported my contacts from Office 97 on XP to Office 97 on Vista by using my
Ipaq. But everytime I now use the To: function when making a new mail, the
mail keeps hanging in the Outbox, blocking all other mails. If I type the
address manually, everything's ok. Please help, this is driving me nuts.
