Contacts Shortcut Causes Outlook to Shutdown

T

Tom

When I'm in any other window besides Contacts and click
on the Contacts button in the Outlook Shortcut bar, an
error message will pop up and say something to the
effect: "An error has occured in Outlook and it will now
shutdown. Do you want to send this error to MicroSoft?"
I can click on any other shortcut (i.e. Inbox, Calendar)
and that window will pop up normally. Does anyone know
what is happening, how to make the shortcut work properly
or simply how to view Contacts another way?

Thanks,

Tom

Delete the shortcut and recreate one. Right click->delete. Display your
folders in a locked tree view, right click on contacts->Add to Outlook Bar.

The shortcuts sometimes become corrupt and need replacing.

Milly,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Unfortunately that didn't
resolve the problem. If I click on "Contacts" in the
tree or even through "View", the error/shutdown still
occurs. Fortunately, I have found a way to search for my
contacts by right-clicking on the shortcut in Advanced
Search but I would like to open Contacts normally. Can
you make any other suggestions? BTW, I am able to access
the Contacts through links in Calendars, Inbox, etc. and
the Contacts synchronize just fine w/ my Dell PDA.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi

I have a similar problem as below which I have posted a
number of times. I wonder could anyone throw some light
on it before it drives me...

===========================================
When I try to add a Contact from my Personal Address Book
to an email I get the following Error message...

"Outlook.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows. You need to restart the programme.

An error log is being created"
