Continuous -5552 error message

I sent an e-mail to one recipient w/ multiple attachments. I now know
THAT was a huge mistake! Now I'm getting the -5552 error message
telling me "mail could not be sent because my mailbox was full", which
it wasn't, at least once an hour since then. I went to Sent Mail
folder and the message is not in there to delete. I found another
reference to this error but it was about sending a message to multiple
recipients and no solution to the constant error message was reported.
What can I do to get out of this predicament?

Thanks,
Kathy

Check your Outbox, in the "On My Computer" hierarchy. If the message is
there, which I suspect it will be, delete it. Messages are only stored in
the Sent Items folder after they have been successfully sent. The Outbox is
where they reside in the meantime.

If you delete the message and still get the error, go to Window -> Progress
to see what Entourage is doing when it gets the error.

Mickey,

Thanks for the reply. As I've already stated, the e-mail that is
screwing everything up is NOT in my Sent Mail folder in Entourage. And
I'm still gettting the error message at least once an hour, which is a
real pain because the Mac is on 24/7 and Entourage is running. When I
get on my Mac, there are usually 10-15 error messages that I have to
delete and the cycle starts over again. I went to the Comcast server
and checked the Sent Mail folder there and it's empty. Is there any
way out of this? How about if I moved the Sent Mail I want to keep
into another folder, deleted the Sent Mail folder and restarted
Entourage? Would that get rid of it? I'm at my wit's end!

Thanks,
K

You can't delete the Sent Mail folder. It's one of the default folders.

Is the message still in the Outbox? If not, can you find it anywhere? It
sounds like Entourage is still trying to send the message but your ISP will
not allow it to go through because of the number of recipients or the size
of the attachments.

Is the error -5552 or 5552?

Hers is the info on Error 5552 (when sending out mass e-mails)

"Too Many Recipients"

This error is being passed on by your mail server, because your mail
provider has a limit to how many recipients you can send to in one message.
Entourage has no limit. You should contact your mail provider to ascertain
the maximum number of recipients per message and note it. You can use the
free "Split Recipients" script to send a mass e-mail in separate mailings
automatically.

Diane,

The error message is -5552 and is probably referring to the
attachments. I thought I had looked everywhere but when I did a find,
it showed the message was in the Outbox--a location I had not even
thought about. I was able to delete the offending message and
hopefully I'm out of the continous error loop. Thanks for your help.
