Continuous error: "Synchronizing offline actions"

Help! I am having such trouble with Entourage! It started after telling it
to "Work Offline". Now all I get is an error that looks like this:

This error demands to be acknowledged and it appears continuously while
doing anything online. It seems like it can't find the target boxes but the
boxes eventually fill so I know they are there. I emptied all the caches and
purged deleted items. Meanwhile Entourage is useless, what do I do?

I did a complete rebuild and it fixed it. Two problems:

1) How to do a complete rebuild while remembering Mailing List Rules and
newsgroups? Because it is too much work to recreate all of them.

2) Obviously I can't use "Work Offline" mode, since this makes a mess of
Entourage. Is this a bug?

Mailing List rules shouldn't disappear in an Advanced Rebuild. They're in a
separate file. Maybe you trashed it by mistake when trashing "Old Database"
file? It's in the same Identity folder. Otherwise it would mean (I think)
that you had really serious corruption in that file. Again, the actual news
messages are deleted from the cache, but not the newsgroups themselves. It
sounds as if you also trashed the Newsgroups file.

I've periodically had to do Advanced Rebuilds and never saw either MLM rules
or news groups disappear. Only links, downloaded news messages and
downloaded IMAP messages (and Hotmail if you have it) - All the messages can
be downloaded from the server again., unless they're so old they've been
removed from the server. (You can copy old messages to local folders before
rebuilding, if you can get into Entourage of course.) So it's really only
links you lose.

No. you had serious data corruption, so things went wonky. Of course you can
work offline.
