Question: Is there a way to *NOT* have a particular project's calendar
events be integrated with one's main Entourage calendar? [I have
searched MS site and help files and this forum to no avail.]
Use example: Using a Project as a centralized place to store worker's
schedules in order to quickly see who is working when, and for a quick
view of coverage, as workers shifts overlap. However, I don't wish to
have *MY* Entourage calendar be contaminated with all of these events
which do not apply (in this case).
I would do this:
€ In the Calendar area, you'll see an "All Events" view. Go there.
€ Sort this view by the Projects column. All the events which are not part
of any project should all be at the top (or bottom).
€ Shift-click the top and bottom event in this no-project set to select them
all.
€ Click anywhere in the Categories column of this selected area and select
Assign Categories... at the top of the contextual menu (or go to
Edit/Categories/Assign CategoriesŠ)
€ In the big Assign Categories window check the Personal checkbox. (Or
before you start all this create a new "Just Me" category to check.)
€ !!! Do NOT check the "Set Primary" button at the bottom. Click OK button.
This assigns the Personal category to all your non-Project events, but does
not make it the primary category (except for events with no categories) so
they'll all keep their existing category colors.
€ Now repeat this sequence for all events in projects which are your own
projects, not the worker-project-that-don't-involve-you. If you can
shift-click to include contiguous project events, do so.
€ Now go to your calendar and switch the "Subject contains" popup to
"Category is". Switch the "All" popup to "Personal"
The calendar will now show all the events you have set to include Personal
category - even those where some other category is primary, showing a
different color. It will exclude those events belonging to worker projects
that you did not set as Personal. Only your own events will display, and
they will display all their usual primary category colors.
