Conversion product key doesn't work (found in "help" tab)

I got a trial version of MS Office 2003 with my HP laptop. It said that you
could convert (for the cost of an update) to a real licensed version. When I
try to convert it says that my product key (found in the help tab). Anyone
have any suggestions?

You need to purchase a "Full Retail Version" of Office 2003 and
not an "Upgrade Version".
