How does one change columns of numbers to rows of numbers?

ie:
8 16 31
2 14 16
12 15 46
3 13 15
8 38 50
8 38 40
9 14 26

to

8 2 12 3 8 8 9
16 14 15 13 38 38 14
31 16 46 15 50 40 26

Select the original range, Copy, place the cursor elsewhere, Edit |
Paste Special | tick "Transpose" | OK.

Perfect, thanks

Question, how come I can only go 255 columns wide?

An unfortunate limitation of Excel. There are a few workarounds you
could try. Google "excel column limit" for examples.

There are 256 columns in versions of excel before xl2007.

There are 16384 columns in xl2007.

What version are you using?
