Convert .doc or .rtf to .txt and keep right justification?

Is there a way in Word 2003 to convert an RTF (or DOC) file to TXT and
maintain the right (and left) justification when you open the TXT file
in the likes of notepad?
This conversion would therefore entail automatically adding lots of
single spaces between the words as opposed to the the stretching out
of words and the spaces between them when done in Word.

The old "Save As" file converter to save as text with layout might be
able to do this. But unless you have an older version of Word around
somewhere you won't be able to get the converter.
