Convert .PPS to .AVI or .MPEG

Does anyone know if there is a way to convert a .PPS file
to .AVI or .MPEG? I need to get it into a video format so
I can turn it into a VCD for easier presentations. Any
help is welcome.

P.S. Tried using Movie Maker to do it using JPG images
and audio files but it freezes half way through editing.

There is a prog especially for converting ppt and pps to video. It
really converts but not captures... And at the same time makes no sound
and picture quality losses! It was recently updated so there are a new
3.0 version avaliable now.

Let me share my expirience with you.

After converting many PowerPoint presentations, I have yet to find a
application that combines all the features I want into a package that'
priced in a budget that makes sense for most projects. The plug-i
solutions generally copy most parts of a PowerPoint slideshow whil
failing to capture some transitions and completely bypassing an
imbedded video, which is what makes screen recording an attractiv
alternative. For the best in class for the plug-in solutions, th
Presentations to Video Converter app does the best job I've seen for
fairly pricey $199. One advantage to this app is the ability to conver
PPT slideshows with or without PowerPoint installed on the convertin
PC.
And also there is feature to burn PowerPoint presentation to DVD, whic
is fery useful now for everyone. And of course convert to MPEG or AVI.

Sorry to jump in here. I have tried many different programs including
camtasia. I still have not found a program that will convert the transistion
very well. They all seem to be jerky and not smooth.

Does anyone have a program they have worked with that does the job?

You might want to look at camtasia - it does a pretty good job.

camtasia just captures the screen and will record mouse movement. wha
is more it costs a lot.
presentation to video converter is cheaper and it CONVERTS! you ar
able to control the converting process (make clicks to change th
slides or can just set an option 'auto click' and seconds) but i
doesn't record any other actions on your screen
