Converting Access Applications to VB

I'm thinking about purchasing VB.Net. Is there an easy
manner within .Net to convert existing Access applications
to .net

I'd be surprised if there was. While there are a number of products that
purport to be able to do this for VB 6 (Tony Toews lists some of them at
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/accesstovb.htm ), the general consensus was
that they do an incomplete job at best. There are too many differences
between the controls available in Access and those available in VB to allow
for easy conversion. I suspect the same is true between Access and VB.Net,
plus there are differences in the language as well.

I wrote a VB.Net version of an Access app and it was very difficult.
Huge learning curve. Many "simple" tasks in Access were quite difficult
using VB.Net.
e.g. databinding directly to the database can't be done in .Net. You have to
extract the data and bind to some other object like a datatable.
Dozens of other issues too.
Do it for learning purposes if you want, but don't do it on a deadline!
