1) Use common fonts. If you use a font that PowerPoint does not have (on
the receiver's end) it will substitute one that it feels is close.
Unfortunately, it doesn't know close from Adam, and often selects something
ugly.

2) Embedding a font will make it so the recipient has the font, but may not
be able to open the presentation.
