converting

I am helping an Airline Pilot out. Here is the problem.

He flys from:
13:30 until 15:00

So he flys a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes or 1:30
I have no problem figuring this out ....

but he would like an addional column that will convert the
1:30 to look like 1.5 hours of flying time.

I've been all over the convert function but have not come
up with a solution. Any help would be great

=A1*24. Format as Number, not as time (which happens automatically when you
enter the formula).

Time in Excel is stored as a fraction of a day. That why the *24 comes in.

Frank,

Multiply it by 24 and format as General.
