Copies of mail messages as files in c: root?!

When I receive mail, it is stored in the right pst file. However, copies of
mail messages received, are also stored as individual files (one file per
message) in my c: root folder. It seems that these files are not used for any
purpose; I can remove them without consequences.

Anybody knows how I can prevent these files to be created?
