copies of sent e-mails being returned from sender?

I am getting copies of e-mails sent up to four months back coming into my
in-box. There does not seem to be a set time frame for the return, ranges
anywhere from 4 months to 2 weeks ago. The return is an exact copy of the
e-mail I sent, not a read receipt. This is intermitent (not every e-mail
comes back) and is not specific to one receipient or network. Has anyone
experienced this problem? did you manage to fix it and how?
