Copy all contents to new computer???

J

John Olson

I am replacing my computer and would like to copy my Entourage X
exactly as it is to my new computer.
I was thinking I could just copy it onto a back up drive and then copy
it back to the new hard drive, but when I do that it fires up on the
new computer as a new copy with none of my folders or accounts, ect.
Clearly I don't understand the complexities of what I'm wanting to do,
but it sure would save me a lot of set up time if someone could steer
me in the direction I need to go.
I'm mainly trying to avoid setting up all the accounts and the folders
used to organize the mail.
Thank You,
John Olson

You need to copy the Microsoft User Data folder to the same location on the
new machine. It's generally located here:
/Users/<Your User>/Documents/Microsoft User Data/

Copy it to the same location on the new computer. Then, when you launch
Entourage X, your data should appear. If it does not, go to Entourage >
Switch Identity, and re-select your identity.

Put the copied identity folder into the right place (corresponding to
where it was on the old machine) and switch Entourage to that identity.
