Copy and paste multiple calendar events

Is there any way to copy and paste multiple calendar events from one or more days to another? Recurring events are not an option as these are irregular occurrences and I know I can option+drag individual events, but I'd like to know if I can do it with multiple events. In Outlook 2007 it's simple - Ctrl+click on all the events, Ctrl+C to copy them, select the new dates, Ctrl+V and walla - they're duplicated on the new dates. Is there any way to do this w/Entourage?

While in the Calendar view create a Custom View or use and existing
Custom View to get a list of your events. You can select one or more
events using the Shift and/or Command keys and simply drag them to your
other calendar.

Hope this helps!

Bill,

Thanks for the input - but it's only getting me about halfway there. By creating a custom view, are you referring to a "saved search?" This is the only way I've found to get a list view of all my events. The problem I'm having now is that I can't bring up my saved searches again! I'm using an exchange account - would that be affecting it?

Incidentally, this is extremely frustrating that Microsoft can't just "duplicate" the functionality of Outlook in Entourage. Are they purposely trying to make my Mac experience with Entourage distasteful so I'll switch to windows?

Thanks again.

Sorry, yes, a Custom View (Entourage 2004) is the same as a Saved Search
(Entourage 2008). I'm using old terminology when I shouldn't.

Once you've created a Saved Search are you saving it? You'll see a Save
button in the upper right corner. Tweak your criteria to just the way
you like it and then save it. The new Saved Search will appear in the
folder list on the left.

This should work for Exchange the same way.

If you're interested in how it got to be this way then read my blog post:

"Why did Microsoft replace Outlook for Mac with Entourage?"
<http://blog.entourage.mvps.org/2007/05/why_did_microsoft_replace_outl.html>

Simply put, Entourage was never suppose to be an Outlook replacement.
Outlook for Mac was canceled and the folks developing Entourage decided
to add Exchange support to help their Mac/Exchange customers who would
have been left with nothing on Mac OS X.

Hope this helps!

Bill, thanks again so much for the input, but I'm still having some problems.

Yes, I am clicking the "save" button on the upper right. Then it prompts me for a name and I click save again. After that, if I navigate away from the calendar view it says "you've made changes - do you want to save?" and I click "yes". But then I'm still unable to see my saved search. In the folder list, the last thing on the list is the "custom views" and I don't see my saved search there. Any ideas? Could it be a permissions problem or something?

Thanks again for the info. My apologies for my mellow dramatic response - my frustration was getting the best of me. I realize that the functionality won't be 100% the same, but the feature of copy & paste seems like such a basic, universal task - I just wish this particular aspect had been implemented better. Thanks again for your continued assistance.

Very strange. As soon as I click the Save button the second time I see
my Saved Search under Calendar Views (when it's twiddled open).

File permissions in the Finder won't affect what happens *inside*
Entourage. If you're not seeing an item getting saved immediately then I
suspect you may have some database corruption.

Test again and if you still don't see the item then try rebuilding your
Database by launching Entourage with the Option key held down. This will
open the Database Utility where you can select the option to Verify and
or Repair.

Hope this helps!
