Copy Colors From and PowerPoint

Does anyone know why the "copy colors from" function doesn't work for
charts that have been imported from Excel to PowerPoint? I've opened
up my Excel when trying to make this change, but for some reason it
never has the names of the other workbooks I have open when trying to
edit in PPT. I am using Office 2k3 Pro. Thanks!

When you're in Excel, the workbook you're copying colors from has to be
open. But even if the workbook is opened in Excel, you have to remember that
you're working with an Excel workbook that's embedded in your PPT file, so
it doesn't really "see" other opened Excel workbooks.

Right-click the chart and choose Chart Object/Open to open the chart in
Excel itself (as opposed to double-clicking, which opens an Excel object
within PPT). The other opened workbooks will be available to copy colors
from.

Or copy the colors from the other workbook in Excel before you insert the
workbook into PPT.
