Copy window / Screen Print

Hi

New PC (XP) unfortunately ALT+PRINT SCREEN does not work!

I've looked through MS sites and they all say to copy the
window or screen contents:

1. To make a copy of the active window, press ALT+PRINT
SCREEN.
2. To copy the entire screen as it appears on your
monitor, press PRINT SCREEN.

But I get ...
For 1 = When I use this I either get the entire screen or
nothing copied
For 2 = PRINT SCREEN does not do anything (on NT I used
to use CTRL+PRINT SCREEN)

Tried various ways, but still can not get a copy of the
active window only. All I am able to do is use FN+PRINT
SCREEN to get the entire screen... Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Sam

Why don't you use screen capture program? SnagIt has the function tha
allows you to capture active window. Another software called ActivePe
lets you edit on the screen then capture the screen

Hi,

I've found the solution!

Basically you do need to use the Function key as well,
i.e.
FN+ALT+PRINT SCREEN

Unfortunately no documentation that came with the PC
detailed this, nor does any of the MS web sites for XP!

Thanks!
