Copying excel 97 cells into Publisher 2002 Tables

R

Robert Radburn

I have recetly upgraded from Publisher 97 to 2002.
Previously I was able to open an excel spreadsheet (excel
97), highlight cells, copy, then paste into an existing
table in my Publisher document by positioning my cursor in
the first cell of the table and pasting.

With Publisher 2002, when I try to do the same thing
(still using Excel 97), all the table's text is pasted
into the cell where I have positioned the cursor.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Have you tried selecting the cell range that you want to paste into before
pasting?

I have selected cell range and still no joy.

Is this a known problem or is it me?

Have you downloaded and installed the UPdates for Publisher 2002?

I have never had a problem copying and pasting Excel into Publisher 2002.
The last book I did had a considerable number of Excel ranges.

Hmmmmmmm never tried that, and would not even attempt such a thing.

If I did want to do that, I would be using a 'Paste as Picture' solution.

I would not attempt to paste an Excel range into an existing Table in
Publisher. There is limits to all software.

Hi Rob,

The table object behavior has changed.
If you position the cursor in a table cell in
Publisher 2002 then choose Edit=>Paste special
and select 'table cells with cell formatting'
do you get something similar to what you were
looking for?
