Copying main identity from old to new computer

I have searched this newsgroup for answers to my problem, but even
though it seems there are many similar cases, the responses I read have
not worked for me so far.

My old G4 was running OS 10.3.3 and Entourage 10.1.4. Our systems
analyst copied all my files from that machine via a firewire external
hard drive using Carbon Copy Cloner. The new G4 is running exactly the
same system and Entourage versions. When I attempted to open my email,
I was able to get the POP account but not the IMAP email. I checked all
account settings (even though I was using the backed-up copy). Then
when attempting to send email, it didn't work at all. The error message
said I didn't have privileges for that (I have administrator
privileges). When attempting to rebuild the database, it didn't work
either. Entourage wouldn't rebuild it, whether standard or advanced. I
even tried creating a new identity, but I couldn't send email either. I
trashed my Office X and Main Identity and reinstalled it all and
upgraded it back to the latest version (10.1.4 for Entourage; 10.1.5 for
the others). This time, after copying my old Main Identity, I was able
to rebuild the database using the copy of the identity I had saved from
the old computer. Nevertheless, I still can't send email.

Is there any file that when copied from the old computer could have
gotten corrupted? What am I missing?

One detail I forgot to write in my original post. I used the exact same
settings (pop server, smtp server, accounts, etc.) in Mail.app and
Netscape mail and was able to retrieve my mail from pop and imap
accounts.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide a workable solution. I much
rather prefer to continue using Entourage than any other mail program.
