copying the format

=F3-C3 F3 being the date and C3 being the number of days.
It will give me the correct answer if done individually. I
want to copy that formula with the right column and rows
to subtract The number of days is in number formatt and
the date is 01/03/04 date format.

If the formula results in a number format, instead of a date, you can
copy the format from the original date cell:

Select the cell with the date formatted correctly
Click the Format Painter button on the toolbar (the paint brush)
Click the column button for the column that contains the unformatted
dates, or drag over specific cells that you want to format.
