Copywrite symbol

I have tried to upload the copywrite symbol and for some reason, it publishes
as a question mark???

This doesn't work because it's in the shared border. I have to copy and past
the text from the body. The body works using your suggestions. Sounds like a
SE issue?

I can see that my post was not properly rendered. I was recommending that
you use the entities for the copyright symbol that are obtained when you use
a ampersand ("&") followed by either "#169;" or "copy;".

I understood what you were saying and it worked when I test published using
it in the body, but I have to copy and past it for the shared border on the
bottom of the page. When I paste it, it doesn't publish correctly and comes
back again as a "?."

Now it publishes as the entity &169 or &copy instead of the symbol?

Did you try HTML view and insert it this way:

<p> © 2004 (your name) </p>

Of course code view! The problem is that it's in the shared border. Is there
a way to view the code in the shared border that I'm not aware of?

well so you know for sure, this worked. I had to go into the webfolder
through the start menu "explore" and find the _borders directory. double
clicked the bottom file and it popped open FP. Edited the code and shabang!

Thank you

Shared borders are Not a _vti* folder
They are in the _hidden folder named _borders as files named for each border (top.htm, left.htm, bottom.htm, right.htm)
To see the _hidden folders in FP use Tools Site Settings Advanced - show hidden folders

| Well, you would have to edit the shared border files in the _vti folders, I
| think.
