Corrupted Entourage? Errors & misfunctions

New both to Mac, and to Entourage, which I'm testing using the Test Drive
with my MacBook. I guess this will be the first of many requests for help.

Am experiencing the following problems with Entourage.
Maybe a corrupted installation? (Possible on Mac?) As new to both hardware &
software, thought I'd ask first!

PROBLEMS:
1. Frequently get the following error message box:
An unknown error occurred
Explanation:
Could not retrieve mail
Account name: "hotmail"
Error: -50
Hotmail account details are correct - Entourage is receiving some mail
from this account.

2. In Mail view, showing folder list, the large icons above the folder list
are corrupted, showing two lo-res black & white icons (face with !, and Q)
with QuickTime PICT in text under. The Project Center icon appears as it
should - Address book and Notes appear as they should when moused over. All
seem to function ok. With folders hidden, small icons display fine.

3. In Project Center, double clicking, or selecting and opening a project
instantly causes Entourage to close (as in quit), no messages, no warnings.

4. On menu bar, next to help, is another menu, with an 'S' like icon. No
items work... Create event from message .. Open Mail folder.. Etc. All
inoperative.

5. Images not downloading in *some* mail messages. Download images option is
checked.

I don't think there is much you can do. There have been various
improvements since Entourage Test Drive was released, so it may be better if
you decide to get the full version of Office.

That's bizarre. Is everything else (QuickTime, Mac OS) up-to-date on your
machine?

That's the script menu. Those are the pre-installed scripts that appear in
the menu. They are located in /Users/<Your User>/Documents/Microsoft User
Data/Entourage Script Menu Items/.

I don't know why the scripts wouldn't be working. I know that for "Create
Event from Message", you should have a message selected before running the
script. Maybe this is related to the Test Drive too.
5. Images not downloading in *some* mail messages. Download images option is
checked.

In Entourage 2004, images only download automatically in messages from
senders who appear in the address book if the appropriate preference is
checked. Messages from other senders will by default not download the
images for security reasons. You should be able to click the "Download
pictures" button and see the images download, as pictured here:
