Could not open that feature. Mail error.

I have just started getting the above error message when I try and switch
between folders in my Inbox. Once it appears Entourage essentially becomes
unusable and I have to force-quit, because even if I click the OK button in
the error dialog (the only button there is), the message just reappears again.

I have tried rebuilding the database (simple and advanced), replacing the
Entourage application file (and the Database Daemon file for good luck) and
the error message still appears.

WHat might be causing this error? I must admit that as well as being
frustrated at not being able to get to my mail, I am also frustrated at coding
that allows an application to get into a "locked" state like this where the only
way out is to force-quit an application that is not actually dead, but appears
to be stuck in a loop of the programmer's making...

What do you mean by "replacing"? You need to run Office Remover - which you
first need to install from the Value Pack on the CD - then Log Out and Log
In, then empty the trash, then reinstall Office v. X from the CD, then apply
Office Updaters 10.1.2 (unless the version on the CD is 10.1.1 or later),
10.1.4 and 10.1.5 from MacTopia.

Before you do that, you might want to try just removing the Microsoft folder
here:

~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/

and applying all the updaters. That might do the trick.
