Counta between dates

I need to count how many people are going to be eligible
to retire from today() until 12/31/04, in 2005, & in
2006. Their retirement eligibility date's are in a column.

Hi Steve
1. For this year's retirements:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:A1000>TODAY()),--(YEAR(A1:A1000)=YEAR(TODAY()))

2. For the year 2005:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(YEAR(A1:A1000)=2005))


3. For the year 2006:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(YEAR(A1:A1000)=2006))
