COUNTIF - relative reference in criteria

I want to use COUNTIF on a range of columns (A to Z, each with 50
rows), to add up the number of occurrences in each column of a numbe
greater than a certain value. The problem is that I want to specify
different cutoff value for each column. I have put these cutof
numbers in another range (AA502:AZ502), with the COUNTIF functions i
AA503:AZ503. If I set up the COUNTIF function in AA503 and then try t
copy it across, the reference to the cutoff value in AA502 does no
change its column number. How do I achieve what I want?
