Crash upon opening

R

Hello.
I am having great difficulty opening Entourage without it crashing.
I was in the process of deleting large sent emails, so I had arranged
them by size order and was going through one by one so as to make sure
I didnt delete anything important.
This was going OK until it crashed, when i try to open again it tries
to load the sent mail pane and this cause it to crash again.
How can I fix this problem?
Any why does it crash so easily?
I have had this problem before, but have managed to resolve it in the
past but this time all i get is crash after crash.

please help.

Hold the alt key down when you launch ENtourage. This should trigger the
database assistant which should then let you rebuild the ENtourage
database. There is a chance the database is corrupted and making
ENtourage crash at launch.

But more likely is that Entourage is trying to download a corrupt message.

Hold Shift key when launching Entourage, to disable all schedules that run
At Launch. Go to Tools/Schedules/Send & Receive All, and disable it,
temporarily. Then go to your Inbox ("On My Computer: if you have a POP
account, he IMAP INBOX or Exchange Inbox otherwise, all of the above if more
than one account.)

If you have a POP account, go to Tools/Accounts/[that account]/Options, and
check Allow Online Access. Them go to the Account name in the Folders list.
If an IMAP or Exchange account, go to its INBOX. If several accounts, all of
the above.

In this folder/view, go to View/Preview Pane/None. (Select None.)

Sort (Arrange) the folder by Received (Date).

Select the oldest recent message which has not been fully downloaded (an
icon other than the full envelope: e.g. truncated envelope).

Delete it.

Switch everything back to normal and do a Send & Receive. All OK?
