Hi all,
First things first...I think that everyone addressed in this email is
involved in the improvement plans for Meyer Ave. (Lee, I have left you on
the list since the house isn't sold yet, just as an FYI.) I have also
included the separate email addresses s for Laural and Mike (Mike, what is
your last name?), for Sherry and Paul, for me and Victor. Anna (is this how
you spell it?) and Paolo, could you give me Barbara's last name, her
husband's name and do they have a separate email address?
Update
Tuesday night, Feb. 24, 13 of us (listed below) met at Sherry and Paul's to
discuss the most recent ideas for improving the street. As a group, we
agreed to a 3-phase project. We would like to implement phase one and two
as soon as feasible (when Tom gets final cost estimate and dates).
Phase One (impending):
Have the street paved with asphalt, 20 ft. wide, with slightly raised edges
to retain landscaping, and including 2 speed bumps. This work requires that
the contracted company will remove the current pavement, re-grade the street
so water flows to the center, and then repave it with nice, even edges.
Phase Two (soon):
Shortly after that, we will use our funds (discussed below) to continue. We
are proposing adding a colored cement edge (or pavers, depending on cost)
along the entire two sides of the road for a cleaner look, but one that
still allows parking.
Phase Three (someday?):
We have all expressed interest in community areas, benches, etc. To be
discussed after Phase One and Two are completed.
Costs:
Ah, the burning question! We concurred on 3 money issues:
* Each of the 13 households involved will each contribute (now) $250
to our bank fund (held by me, Andrea). This money goes towards current and
upcoming professional fees (surveyors, plans, etc.). Whatever is left will
be added to the street fund.
* Each of the 13 households will share part of the street fund
(repaving costs), which is currently estimated at $12,000, according to this
arrangement:
