crashes

For the past 2 days, I have tried to send and receive mail, however
entourage just shuts down and asks if I want to send a crash report. I have
changed nothing that I know of. I can send messages, but it crashes when
trying to receive. I have performed virus scans as well as a database typical
rebuild and nothing. Not sure where to turn now. Does anyone have any
ideas?
Info: I run Mac OS 10.3.4 (Entourage was working fine after the last update)
on a G5.
I also run sync Palm Os but haven't done that for a while, so that shouldn't
be affecting.
Can anyone suggest anything?

What version of Entourage are you using? Recently, malformed junk mail has
exploited a bug in the Junk Mail Filter included with Entourage X and 2001
that causes the entire program to crash when Entourage attempts to download
and process the message. Microsoft has posted a fix at their web site:

Entourage 2004 includes improvements that allows it to download most of the
commonly-received junk messages that crashed earlier versions. However,
there might now be new types of messages that crash Entourage 2004 as well.

If you are crashing on receiving mail, it could be due to a corrupt
message on the server. Work through the steps on the "Crashes" page on The
Entourage Help Page to resolve the problem if turning off the Junk Mail
Filter doesn't seem to fix the problem.
