Let me start by saying thank you for reading my post!
I'm developing what is known as a "Slam Book" for a
client's daughter. A slam book basically allows users to
answer predetermined questions with short text answers
and in a few instances, short paragraph answers. On the
same page as every question, would be displayed the
answer other people had given to that same question.
Each page would have a different question at the top
(name, age, faves, etc.) Below that would be a box in
which users could enter their answers. And below that,
the answers other users had provided for that question
would be displayed. I could display the answers with
basic page includes, I know. Sounds a lot like a default
FrontPage guestbook, right? Now it gets tricky.
Each question would need a form on a dedicated page, and
only answers to the particular question would be
displayed on a given page. But...
I forsee problems. What if a user doesn't finish their
entries all the way to the end of the "slam book"...this
would screw up the book in that subsequent entries would
be on the wrong line.
Basically, I think I need forms that hold and pass on all
the information (from the first question until the last)
when a user is filling out their entries in the
book...and only then will the final post all their
answers to the correct .html pages. That way, if they
don't finish the entire book, then their entry does not
get posted.
Further, I would like say, their "Name" could be a
hyperlink that opened a page that displayed all their
answers to all the questions.
I'm not a FrontPage newbie...and the final product seems
very possible. Am I dreaming...or can this be done with
FrontPage?
Thank you for your time and effort.
