I am writing a large document (circa 400 pages of text and 250 linked images)
which will then be bound into a fine-art book. Is it possible to create this
as several separate smaller publisher documents (ie 1 document = 1 chapter)
and then join them all together at the end into a single publication ?
The underlying reason for wanting to do this is that I will be printing the
document in units of two-sheet bookfolds (ie 8 printed pages per unit). If I
print each chapter separately then I will have on average 4 empty sheets in
the final bookfold of each chapter, whereas by joining the chapters togetrher
I can avoid this. I am using expensive A3+ double sided photographic paper,
so there is a cost incentive to solve this, as well as not wanting to have
empty pages mid-document.
