Creating an interactive cd-rom

Hi everyone,

I´m exploring Msft Publisher 2003 regardind the cration of a
publication that I'll save as html file to make a startup cdrom.
The main goal that I want to achieve with this cdrom is to explain a
newbie in my organization how does it work, what are our objectives,
and pass by some documents of rules (in .pdf) and some slideshows
presenting the different departments.

Using Ms Publisher it was very easy to build up a navigation bar, a
correct index of the pages (so far I've got 9) and to create a common
layout.

It was also easy to hyperlink .pdf files using relative links, working
well on the cdrom.

Now I have a big obstacle... How to insert or link power point
slideshows (.pps)??
I've tried to »Insert>Object and then explore the different
possibilities and nothing. I've tried to create hyperlinks to the files
(similar to what I did to the .pdf docs) and nothing... I even tried to
save the Power Point presentations as .html and.... nothing!

I've invested a lot of work in this "publication" and I don't want to
start all over again in Ms Front Page....

Can anyone help me with a hint of how to solve my little problem??

Thank you alll!

OK...I'll try. Unless the user has PowerPoint or the viewer installed, I
don't think they would be able to view the slideshow as a .pps file.
Instead, follow your original instinct and save the powerpoint file as a
..htm file, and link to it from Publisher.

If you are finding that html web based templates etc are working for
you why not post to the net?as long as your staff etc have a connection
there learning.
Its been a while since i put power point on the web but i remember it
was easy.
As for cd,,( don't get me wrong I am a huge fan of publisher for some
jobs ). there are better suited programs(in my humble opinion)for
autorun set ups.
Goggle autorun cd you will have lots to go at including Visual Basic
(trendy but large curve)
I say go to the web easy and more practical for future training
endeavors .
Btw when i did publish power point it was using publisher templates it
was also 2000 back then i bet 2003 and 2007 have a host of web goodies.
